Set Up the Local Scan Agent

Browsers can't scan Wi-Fi on their own. A small Python script on your computer runs the scan and hands the results to this page. It listens on 127.0.0.1 only and needs no admin rights.

  1. Download tracewaves-agent.py or fetch it in Terminal:
    curl -fsSLO https://tracewaves.app/tracewaves-agent.py
  2. Install it as a background service that starts on login:
    python3 tracewaves-agent.py --install
Or run it just for now with python3 tracewaves-agent.py. On Windows, use py instead of python3.
  3. Come back here and choose Check Again. If your browser asks to allow access to devices on your local network, allow it.
