What This Test Checks
- App Server
- Loads a fresh file from this site, bypassing caches. A pass means HTTPS traffic reached our server.
- API Health
- Reads the API's health response. A proxy or captive portal can't fake this over HTTPS.
- Round-Trip Time
- Median time for three API requests. It includes server time, so treat it as an upper bound on network latency.
A browser can only test the network it is connected to, and can't see DHCP, gateway, DNS server, or certificate details. Those checks need the native app.
